One of the common questions we get asked, usually goes something like: "How do I know what type of knife to buy, to suit my needs?"
It is very relevant question, after all you don't want to purchase a knife that won't meet your needs and you will stop using, you want a knife that will fully cater to your needs and be something you enjoy using. But, if you love cooking and fancy yourself somewhat as a chef, than you may need more than one knife to fully and perfectly cater to all the different types of cooking you enjoy.
In saying that, you still can purchase just one knife (a bit of an all rounder), but you will find it better at doing certain tasks than other tasks. For example: A common choice is a Chef knife that will slice through thin meat or vegetable's nicely, but it will struggle with bones or carving a roast.
Below is a chart that outlines the most common blade types. This could help you make your decision. If you need help selecting the knife to suit your needs, please reach out to our friendly team at Spada and we'll be more than happy to assist you.
